I requested a diagnostic service visit to look at an old system I was told was likely in need of total replacement. The technician was able to quickly determine the root cause of the issue and it ended up being substantially less expensive to repair. They completed the job same day and the rate was affordable; especially when considering it was a 24 hr turnaround and we are now no longer feeling the effects of the heat. Very impressive service!
Repair guy came out to get ac unit up and running. Turn breaker on and off a few times says he secured wire on the outside but the wire still has the coating missing (see pic) ac unit is working for now but to get charged for securing a wire that truly didn't have anything done to it. Will not use this company again. So as a hvac tech i believe if u see this u should have at least taped it up. Didn't secure the wire like they said. If owner sees this review I hope your techs do better. Prompt service but disappointed.
UPDATING this review, Joe from A1 called us the same day as this review and was so apologetic and sent Rod (tech) out to check out our ac unit and even took care of the wire issue at no cost to us. Rod was very professional and respectful and made sure our ac was working like it should. Thanks A1 for going above and beyond to make your customers happy and worry free.
The technician was nice and did a fine job, but A-1 Mechanical's charges are a total ripoff. They charged a $95 dispatch fee plus a $145 diagnostic fee on top of it. They mentioned labor charges over the phone but hid the fact that the absolute minimum charge is $145. Paying $240 for a technician to be at my house for a whopping 20 minutes is completely unacceptable. I will never recommend this company to anyone.
UPDATE: Following my initial review, Joe (the Service Manager) called me directly to address my pricing concerns. He listened to my feedback regarding the lack of upfront communication about the fees and agreed to refund the $145 diagnostic charge. I truly appreciate Joe taking accountability and making things right. While the initial billing was frustrating, their customer service and willingness to correct the mistake showed great integrity. I would now consider using them again in the future. I will still suggest Joe that $95 dispatch fee is unethical. It you are charges $95, then this should include visiting + estimate + minor repairs. The estimate amount should either adjust this $95 or clearly mentioned that it is non-refundable.
I saw an advertisement at Lowe's for $99 AC tune up, which was a helluva deal. Setting up the appt was a breeze and the Tech Donaven was super friendly and professional. 10/10 would recommend this yearly to keep your AC up and running good. I plan on coming to them this fall for my furnace tune up as well!
Fast service was scheduled, and Jakub (the technician involved) was very good at troubleshooting the issue, which has probably been an issue for years before it became urgent. I will gladly continue to use this vendor for my HVAC services.
Fantastic! Everyone was great and we are very pleased with the install and overall communication with all involved. From Donovan doing his best to work on both systems trying to get things running, to Don who went over options of a new furnace and AC unit, to Mike installing and going over countless details before, during and after install was completed. Highly recommend!
